A delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its institutions visits an internally displaced persons camp in Kaya, Burkina Faso.

Burkina Faso (UNA) – A high-level delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its humanitarian and development institutions, during their visit to Burkina Faso, visited internally displaced persons (IDPs) at reception sites in the Kaya region on August 15, 2025, to inspect the Women’s Empowerment Project funded by the OIC through the Islamic Solidarity Fund in 2023.

The delegation was briefed on the positive impact of the project and on the beneficiaries, who have begun engaging in income-generating activities within displacement sites, thanks to the capacity-building programs and practical tools provided by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. This was greatly appreciated by the concerned parties and local authorities.

The delegation also inquired about the humanitarian needs of the displaced and affirmed its commitment to mobilizing further aid for those affected in Kaya.
