Djibouti (INA) – Djiboutians commemorated today, Monday, the 2012th anniversary of the writing of the Afar language in Latin letters, with the participation of official delegations from the countries of the Horn of Africa. The celebration of this occasion was held at the People's Palace in Djibouti, the capital, under the auspices of President Ismail Omar Guelleh, and in the presence of senior officials of the Afar Writers Club. Djiboutian Prime Minister Abdelkader Kamel Mohamed stressed the need for concerted efforts to empower the Afar language and culture, noting that the government will spare no effort to achieve this goal. In addition to the official ceremony, the Afarian Writers Club holds scientific symposiums and exhibitions of modern literature written in the Afrian language.
