Al-Burhan declares a state of emergency in Sudan and dissolves the Sovereign Council and the Council of Ministers

Khartoum (UNA) - The head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, declared today, Monday, a state of emergency throughout the country and the dissolution of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and the government, pledging to form a government of competencies to manage the transitional phase in the country. Al-Burhan said in a statement: The assignment of state governors has been terminated, the work of the Empowerment Removal Committee has been frozen, and the undersecretaries of ministries have been exempted. Pointing out that the armed forces responded to the people's demands because they sensed the danger, which prompted them to take a decision to correct the course of the revolution. Al-Burhan affirmed commitment to the constitutional document until the formation of a government of national competencies before the end of November 2023, pledging to involve young people in a revolutionary parliament that monitors its performance.
