Abu Dhabi (UNA/SPA) - The Saudi pavilion, organized by the General Authority for Military Industries at the International Defense Exhibition and Conference "IDEX 2025", concluded its activities with strategic gains amidst wide Arab and international participation witnessed by the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, over the course of 5 days.
The Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, stressed that the great success achieved by the participation of the Saudi pavilion in the “IDEX 2025” exhibition reflects the importance of global partnerships and strategic gains that will contribute - God willing - to strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leading industrial power in the sector, noting that the Saudi pavilion witnessed many partnerships that will contribute to developing national industrial capabilities and exchanging expertise with a group of Arab and international companies in the field of military industries.
During the exhibition, the General Authority for Military Industries signed a cooperation agreement in the field of government quality assurance with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration in the Republic of Korea, in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of the Authority, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, and the Minister of Defense Acquisition Program Administration in the Republic of Korea, Suk Jong-joon. The Saudi pavilion participating in the International Defense Exhibition and Conference “IDEX 2025” also witnessed the signing of a number of agreements in various fields between a number of Saudi companies and major leading international companies in the sector, aiming to support investment, transfer technology and localize technology in local content, which contributes to achieving the strategic objectives of the military industries in the Kingdom, and supporting the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 towards localizing 50% of spending on military equipment and services by 2030.
The Saudi pavilion also witnessed great interaction with those interested, researchers, specialists and investors in the field of military industries and defence technologies, as visitors learned about the most prominent developments and updates in the sector, and the qualitative development and rapid steps it has witnessed to support and empower the military industries sector.
The Saudi pavilion received wide attention from visitors and specialists in the military field to learn about the latest developments in the Kingdom in the military industries sector, such as the regulatory and development work carried out by the General Authority for Military Industries in the sector, policies and legislation, incentives and the investor’s journey, and the sector’s abundance of local capabilities that meet the operational needs of military agencies.
During the exhibition days, the Kingdom’s pavilion received delegations of dignitaries, officials, and leaders of military industries from around the world. The governmental and private entities participating in the Saudi pavilion also showcased their latest achievements in the field of military industries.
The Saudi pavilion participating in the exhibition included, in addition to the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), the General Authority for Defense Development (GADD), the World Defense Show (WDS), and a number of national companies operating in the military industries sector, such as the Saudi Arabian Military Industries Company (SAMI), the National Company for Mechanical Systems (NCMS), the Middle East Aircraft Engine Company (MEPC), the Saudi Chemical Holding Company (SCCH), the AlKorayef Group, Life Shield Military Industries Company, Emaan International, Qudra Industrial Co., and the Saudi Aircraft Maintenance and Conditioning Company (GDC).
It is noteworthy that the General Authority for Military Industries works in integration with its partners from the beneficiary and supporting government agencies, to empower national companies and enhance the presence of major international companies in the military industries sector, in order to localize military industries, enhance local production capabilities, and prepare the sector to be a basic tributary in supporting the national economy.
Through international participation, the Authority also seeks to open new horizons for cooperation in the fields of military and defense industries, and to enhance strategic partnerships, in a way that contributes to supporting the Kingdom’s defense and security independence, and highlighting its achievements in this vital and promising sector.
