The Muslim World League condemns the attacks launched by the Houthi group on the holy city of Mecca and the Medina region.

Makkah (UNA) – The Muslim World League strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on Makkah and Madinah, and their continued aggression against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, terrorizing Muslims, their holy sites and mosques, and provoking them by violating the sanctity of holy sites.

In a statement issued by the General Secretariat, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, condemned the terrorist approach of the Houthi group and its attacks targeting holy sites and mosques, including schools and civilian targets, in a blatant violation of the values of our true religion and the most basic humanitarian principles. He called on Islamic countries and the international community to condemn the attacks on the holy city of Mecca and the Medina region by those who call themselves “Ansar Allah” (Supporters of God), and what their actions reflect of a terrorist approach that violates divine sanctities by exposing the lives of Muslims and their holy sites to destruction. This is not in support of God and His Messenger ﷺ, but rather a betrayal of the religion and Muslims and a departure from the guidance of God and His Messenger ﷺ.

On behalf of the League’s assemblies, bodies and global councils, and on behalf of all the Islamic peoples under its umbrella, His Eminence reiterated the full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all the measures it takes to deter the terrorism of the aggressors and to protect the sanctity of holy sites and the lives of Muslims, asking God Almighty to grant it victory over the sinful aggressors who violated God’s sanctities and the holy sites of Muslims, and to protect it, the lands of Muslims and their holy sites, land, leadership and people from all harm.
