Islamabad (UNA/KUNA) – The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, on Wednesday, on the occasion of his official visit to the capital, Islamabad.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that during the meeting, the deep-rooted historical bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples were reviewed, and ways to enhance them and strengthen prospects for joint cooperation in various fields were discussed in order to achieve the common interests of the two countries.
She added that the latest regional developments and efforts to enhance security and stability in the region were discussed.
According to the statement, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah expressed the State of Kuwait’s appreciation for the active diplomatic role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in supporting the region’s security and stability.
During the meeting, Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah conveyed the greetings of the political leadership to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and to the Prime Minister, and their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the government and people of friendly Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Ministers of Defense, Trade, National Food Security, Research and Communications, Maritime Affairs and Petroleum in the Pakistani government, and a number of senior Pakistani officials.
