
Muscat (UNA/ONA) – Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held a consultative meeting yesterday, Tuesday, with the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries via video conference.
The ministers exchanged views on the developments of the current stage, the latest developments in the ongoing negotiations, and the efforts made to push them towards practical understandings that contribute to reducing tension and enhancing the regional security and stability environment.
The meeting discussed ways to intensify coordination and consultation among the GCC countries regarding issues related to freedom of navigation and safety in the Strait of Hormuz, in order to guarantee the rights of passage and transit and the smooth flow of ships, trade and supplies, in accordance with the provisions of international law, and in a way that preserves the sovereign rights of all countries bordering the waters of the Gulf.
The ministers stressed the importance of continuing joint work, prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions, and creating favorable conditions for building trust and reaching solutions acceptable to all parties.
