Abu Dhabi (UNA/WAM) – Under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the UAE, through the Emirates International Aid Agency, is providing various humanitarian aid to relieve those affected and assist those in need, men, women and children, in light of the current crisis in the Lebanese Republic.
The UAE’s aid comes from the country’s civilizational message and its moral responsibilities towards various societies and peoples exposed to disasters or crises, on the one hand, and within the framework of its international commitments towards a rapid relief response to those affected by the repercussions of such crises, on the other hand.
In this context, Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the Emirates International Aid Agency, affirmed that the UAE will continue its leading global role in responding immediately to crises, disasters and emergencies, and in assisting affected communities and peoples by providing various forms of relief aid to achieve early recovery and ensure access to basic needs such as food, medicine, clothing and shelter.
He explained that the UAE International Aid Agency provides relief aid in the form of food and other supplies in coordination with the Higher Relief Commission in Lebanon, in order to ensure the provision of necessary services related to humanitarian relief, and to ensure that basic needs reach those affected as quickly as possible.
For his part, Tariq Hassan Mneimneh, Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to the UAE, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UAE, its leadership, government and people, for supporting and assisting the Lebanese people in all their components in all circumstances and times, helping them to face difficult living challenges, providing urgent needs and standing with them to achieve peace, stability, development and prosperity.
It is worth noting that the UAE continues its unwavering support and diverse humanitarian and development assistance to the Lebanese people, which in previous years included the “UAE with you, Lebanon” campaign, embodying the values of giving, solidarity, synergy and cooperation rooted in UAE society.
