Lagos (UNA/SPA) – The death toll from an attack by gunmen on villages in Benue State, central Nigeria, yesterday has risen to 56, according to the state governor, Hyacinth Olaiya.

Police had previously announced that the death toll had reached 17, before local authorities confirmed the new toll.
