The King of Bahrain stresses that direct interference in the internal affairs of states is one of the most serious existing challenges

Jeddah (UNA) - King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, extended his thanks and congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the distinguished success of this year's Hajj season, expressing his sincere thanks and gratitude for his kind invitation to this exceptional summit, which represents a good opportunity to strengthen the historical friendship relations and consolidate the strategic partnership between our countries and the friendly United States of America, and to study solutions to achieve peace and development for all peoples of the Middle East by jointly confronting the challenges that threaten regional stability, international security and peace, and global interests. The Bahraini monarch said in a speech during the Jeddah Security and Development Summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: The Middle East region, which has an important international strategic position, has suffered for years - and continues to suffer - from difficult political, security and economic conditions, and extremely dangerous challenges, which requires us to think balanced and deeply about how to get out of the ongoing crises and conflicts, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, which must be resolved through a just and permanent settlement and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative, and the creation of promising and sustainable economic opportunities for the brotherly Palestinian people and their actual participation in comprehensive development, as presented in the outcomes of the Peace for Prosperity workshop held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2019, in addition to the need to reach a political settlement to the Yemeni crisis, and continue humanitarian and development support for the Yemeni people. He pointed out that direct interference in the internal affairs of countries is among the most serious challenges facing them, as it violates the principles and rights guaranteed by international laws. It is time to unify efforts to stop such interference, out of respect for the sovereignty of countries, their religious and cultural values, and their civilized approach to respecting others, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, in addition to continuing joint efforts to make the Middle East a zone free of weapons of mass destruction, and combating terrorism, fanatic ideology and its extremist and outlaw organizations. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed the importance of providing more support for efforts aimed at stabilizing global energy prices, including increasing investments to expand exploration and refining and introducing new technologies that contribute to supporting global economic growth and confronting price inflation. We must not forget here the need to encourage all initiatives to export grains, wheat and others, to ensure their access to global markets and activate initiatives to support affected countries to achieve food security. He pointed out that they look forward to this summit yielding fruitful results and constructive outcomes that enhance the path of joint cooperation and consolidate friendly relations between our countries, so that we can face political, security, economic and environmental challenges, establish security and stability, and lay the foundations for a solid and extended relationship that meets the requirements of the present and the future.
