Saudi delegate to OIC visits UNA

Jeddah (UNA) – The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani, visited the headquarters of the Union of News Agencies (UNA) in Jeddah on Monday, where he met with the Acting Director General of the Union, Mohammed Abdrabuh Al-Yami. During the visit, Al-Suhaibani was briefed on the vision of the Union and its work plan for the coming years, which revolves around the role of the Union as a main media platform for member states, and the advancement of the media industry, based on Islamic and media values ​​that urge transparency, credibility and tolerance. The role of UNA in providing strategic media consultations to member states through representatives of official national news agencies was reviewed, in addition to providing a number of courses scheduled to be held during the coming period. Al-Suhaibani praised the role of the Union in strengthening international media relations between member states, and strengthening professional ties between media workers, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness to support the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its various bodies to carry out their tasks in promoting joint Islamic action in various fields. The Permanent Representative was accompanied during his visit to Yona by Deputy Representative Hani Kashif, Media Advisor Ahmed Abu Hassan, and Media and Cultural Affairs Coordinator at the Delegation Arwa Al-Mutawa.
