A press briefing was held to reveal an international meeting endorsing responsible artificial intelligence to protect human societies worldwide.

Riyadh (UNA/SPA) – Senior officials responsible for data technologies and artificial intelligence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UNESCO, and the AICARE International Center will meet tomorrow, Monday, at the international press briefing held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, to announce the details of the fourth edition of the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, which Saudi Arabia will host from September 14 to 17, 2026, in a global dialogue on the future of responsible artificial intelligence and its governance to ensure the protection of humanity in the technological space.

The press briefing will be attended by His Excellency the President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ms. Åsa Regnér, and the Acting Director-General of the International Centre for Research and Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (ICAIRE), Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Shehri.

The speakers will address the most prominent issues that international guests will discuss at the forum, at a time when the world is witnessing rapid and unprecedented developments in artificial intelligence capabilities and developments, and the questions and challenges they pose that transcend national borders, and call for strengthening international cooperation to reach common visions that ensure the development and use of these technologies in a responsible and safe manner that serves all human societies.

Over four days, the forum brings together decision-makers, experts, academics, representatives of international organizations, the public and private sectors, and CEOs of technology companies worldwide to discuss the future of AI ethics and governance, ways to keep pace with the pace of technological development, and how to translate principles into policies and practices that balance accelerating innovation with protecting human values.
