The occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron for two days under the pretext of Jewish holidays.

HEBRON (UNIA/WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron on Wednesday to citizens until Thursday evening, under the pretext of Jewish holidays.

Hebron Endowments Director Amjad Karajeh condemned the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque under the pretext of securing settlers' celebration of the Jewish Sukkot holiday, considering it a blatant violation of its sanctity and a provocative assault on Muslims' right to access their places of worship.

The occupation forces also tightened their military measures, closing all military checkpoints and electronic gates leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque to secure the settlers' celebrations of the Jewish Sukkot holiday in the compound and its courtyards.

A WAFA correspondent confirmed that the occupation forces had increased their presence at all entrances leading to the mosque to secure the access of settlers to the city of Hebron and the archaeological sites under the pretext of celebrating Jewish holidays, and had closed some markets in the Old City.

The occupation forces also imposed a curfew for the third consecutive day on the Jaber, Salaymeh, Ghaith, and Wadi al-Hussein neighborhoods adjacent to the Kiryat Arba settlement, which was built on Palestinian land and property east of Hebron. They prevented school students from reaching their schools and tightened their military measures in the Tel al-Rumeida neighborhood, Shuhada Street, and Jabal al-Rahma.

It's worth noting that Jewish holidays are a nightmare for Hebron residents, especially since they coincide with major violations committed by the occupation forces, including imposing a siege, tightening military measures at checkpoints, and obstructing citizens' access to their homes, particularly in the Old City of Hebron and its surroundings.
