The Union of Arab National Operators (UNA) launches a live streaming service for this year's Hajj rituals on its online platform.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) today launched a live broadcast service for the Hajj rituals of this year 1447 AH, through its official electronic platform, in a step aimed at enabling member news agencies and media outlets around the world to cover the holy sites with high accuracy and professionalism.

This service comes in conjunction with the start of the Hajj season, and in line with the great efforts made by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to serve the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God, and out of “Yona’s” belief in the importance of employing modern technology in the service of joint Islamic media work.
The “Yuna” electronic platform will provide live and direct coverage around the clock of the most prominent Hajj rituals, starting from the arrival of the pilgrims to the holy lands, through the Day of Tarwiyah and standing on the plains of Arafat, up to the days of Tashreeq and the stoning of the Jamarat.
The service aims to provide member news agencies with ready and reliable news material from the heart of the event, convey the spiritual atmosphere of the holy sites to the public around the world, and highlight the organizational efforts and advanced services provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.

His Excellency Professor Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami, Director General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA), explained that this service complements the Union's mission to support joint Islamic media work, saying, “We are pleased today to offer this distinguished service to broadcast the Hajj rituals live, confirming our leading role in providing accurate and reliable media content to news agencies in our member states. This step enhances joint cooperation and ensures that the true and vivid image of the Hajj reaches millions.”

Al-Yami added: “At ‘Yona’ we are constantly working to develop our technical platforms to keep pace with the challenges, and this service represents a qualitative leap in covering major religious events, and highlights the integration with the blessed Saudi efforts in serving Islam and Muslims.”

The Director General invited all member news agencies and media outlets wishing to benefit from this service to visit the official UNA website (una-oic.org) and contact the News Department to obtain details of the broadcast link and signals for Hajj season coverage.

It is worth noting that this initiative comes within the framework of the Union's digital transformation strategy, which recently included organizing specialized media forums and training programs to qualify young media professionals in member states.
