Jeddah (UNA) – The Islamic Development Bank Institute (IDB) and Prince Mohammed bin Salman College (PMBSC) signed a set of agreements to enhance entrepreneurship and leadership excellence capabilities in IDB member countries and Muslim communities.

The partnership aims to launch two innovative programmes: the Entrepreneurial Mindset Development Programme and the Strategic Business Leadership Programme. Both programmes incorporate the values and tools of Islamic finance to promote economic growth in member states. The Prince Mohammed bin Salman College will host these programmes, jointly organised by both institutions.

Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, Acting Director General of the Islamic Development Bank Institute, and Dr. Zeger Degraeve, Dean of Prince Mohammed bin Salman College, signed the agreements during a ceremony held at the Islamic Development Bank headquarters in Jeddah on January 29, 2025.

The Entrepreneurial Mindset Development Program is designed to provide participants with the essential skills, knowledge, networking, values and training needed to implement entrepreneurial projects, while the Strategic Business Leadership Program aims to develop key attributes for entrepreneurial success, particularly personal characteristics such as behaviour, personality traits and capabilities, as well as business characteristics such as structure, objectives and performance management.

Both programmes include a series of interactive workshops, mentoring sessions and real-world projects. Participants are expected to gain rich insights into creative thinking, business planning and effective problem solving.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem said: “We are very excited to partner with the Mohammed Bin Salman College. As the knowledge beacon of the Islamic Development Bank Group, we hope that the joint programs with the Mohammed Bin Salman College will establish a new generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs who are adept at leveraging the principles of Islamic finance to drive economic progress in their communities. Human capital is our greatest resource, and it is important that we equip our youth with the right tools and skills to meet the emerging challenges of the future.”

“This partnership underscores the commitment of the Mohammed bin Salman College to nurturing entrepreneurial leaders who can contribute to Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 and beyond,” said Dr. Zeger Degraeve, Dean of the College. “By integrating Islamic finance principles with practical business strategies, these programs will enable trainees to address real-world challenges and promote sustainable economic and social values, both in the Kingdom and across IDB member countries.”
