Jeddah (UNA) – The Executive Director of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission, Dr. Hadi bin Ali Al-Yami, met with Dr. Yasser Al-Farhan, Head of the Human Rights and Treaty Bodies Department at the Department of International Organizations at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Rami Abaza, Head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Department at the Department of International Organizations at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the 26th Ordinary Session of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission held at the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the latest developments in the human rights situation, and ways were discussed to enhance institutional and technical cooperation between the Commission and relevant Syrian bodies, in order to support the capabilities of Syrian human rights institutions, and enable them to carry out their roles in protecting fundamental rights and promoting the rule of law, and to support the efforts of the Syrian state to ensure respect for human rights, to proceed with the paths of justice, and to compensate victims.
