 The Executive Director of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission receives the Bangladeshi representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to discuss strengthening cooperation.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Executive Director of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Hadi bin Ali Al-Yami, received the Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. M.G.H. Japid, at the Commission’s headquarters in Jeddah on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, as part of strengthening joint cooperation between the two sides.

During the meeting, prospects for developing the institutional partnership were reviewed, and emphasis was placed on the important role that Bangladesh plays in supporting the efforts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The two sides also discussed a number of issues of common interest, most notably the situation of the Rohingya Muslims, as well as ways to enhance cooperation with the National Human Rights Institution of Bangladesh.
