The State of Kuwait condemns Colombia's opening of an embassy in occupied Jerusalem.

Kuwait (UNA/KUNA) – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation of the Republic of Colombia for opening its embassy in the occupied city of Jerusalem in flagrant violation of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement issued today, Wednesday, the State of Kuwait’s categorical rejection of this step and of all practices aimed at changing the existing legal and historical status in the occupied city of Jerusalem, calling on the international community and the Security Council to assume their responsibilities in confronting any attempts to impose a new reality in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Kuwait affirmed its firm and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
