Riyadh (UNA/SPA) – The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed the Council’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the heinous Iranian attack that targeted the port of Fujairah in the sisterly United Arab Emirates, stressing that this act of aggression represents a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.

He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop these repeated Iranian attacks and to put an immediate end to the irresponsible actions that undermine regional and international peace and security.
He also reiterated the GCC’s full and unwavering solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, and its unwavering support for all measures taken by the UAE to protect its security, preserve its sovereignty, and safeguard its vital facilities.
