Jeddah (UNA) – The University of Journalism, Media and Mass Communication in Uzbekistan has awarded the Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), Professor Mohammed bin Abdulrab Al-Yami, the title of Honorary Professor, according to a decision by the University’s Board of Directors, in recognition of his contributions to strengthening cooperation among news agencies in the OIC member states, as well as in appreciation of his efforts in supporting media training and qualification, and empowering young talents in the media sector in the member states.
Al-Yami received the honorary certificate from Professor Kochimov Abdisait, Director General of the Uzbekistan News Agency (UZA), in the presence of Mr. Yakupov Umid Talibovich, Advisor to the President of the University of Journalism and Mass Communication.
This came on the sidelines of the Ramadan Forum organized by the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah last Wednesday, February 25, 2026, corresponding to the eighth of Ramadan.
Al-Yami expressed his gratitude to the Uzbek University, announcing UNA’s readiness to cooperate with the university by involving graduates in training courses and workshops organized by the union.
