Monrovia (INA) - A woman infected with the Ebola virus has died in Liberia, months after the West African country was declared free of the deadly epidemic, and weeks after neighboring Guinea declared a resurgence of the disease. A senior official at Liberia's Ministry of Health said today, Friday: A young woman in her early thirties died of Ebola yesterday (Thursday) at Redvision Hospital. A hospital worker also confirmed that she had the disease. And the World Health Organization announced two days ago that the spread of the Ebola virus in West Africa is no longer classified as a global health emergency, despite the organization's warning that survivors may cause sexual transmission for up to a year after recovery. The Ebola virus has killed more than 11300 people since 2013, out of 28 cases of infection, mostly in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea in West Africa. (End) p.m. / p.c
