
Riyadh (UNA/SPA) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved first place in the Middle East and North Africa region in the 2025 Government AI Readiness Index, issued by Oxford Insights, one of the most important global indicators relied upon in decision-making and organizational planning for countries in these advanced technologies, in an achievement that reflects the Kingdom’s continued rapid progress in adopting and developing artificial intelligence technologies at the governmental level in a sustainable manner.
The Government AI Readiness Index is a specialized global indicator that measures the ability of governments to adopt and employ artificial intelligence in public policies and government services. Its assessment includes (195) countries around the world, based on a set of criteria related to governance, infrastructure and institutional readiness.
This achievement reflects the maturity of the Kingdom’s national experience in the field of artificial intelligence, and its growing role in promoting the responsible and effective use of modern technologies, which supports the quality of life, raises the efficiency of government services, and contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
It also achieved seventh place globally in the governance pillar, in addition to achieving ninth place globally in the public sector adoption pillar, reflecting its balanced progress in the regulatory and applied aspects of artificial intelligence at the governmental level.
This achievement comes in light of the continuous and ongoing support that the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) receives from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SDAIA, to play its role in advancing the field of data and artificial intelligence, providing data-related capabilities and foresight capabilities and enhancing them with continuous innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, in order to ensure that the Kingdom rises to leadership among the economies based on data and artificial intelligence.
The report reflects the Kingdom’s superiority in achieving advanced levels in a number of key indicators, including the advanced infrastructure for artificial intelligence, supported by leading national platforms and solutions such as the “Humain” company, whose efforts contribute to enabling computing capabilities and developing artificial intelligence models, artificial intelligence governance, and the public sector’s adoption of smart technologies, in addition to its ability to formulate national policies, accelerate the development and spread of artificial intelligence systems, and the high flexibility in adopting modern technological solutions.
