The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) was established as a subsidiary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) pursuant to Resolution No. 2/8-E of the Eighth Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers held in Tripoli, Libya in May 1977. SESRIC began its activities on 1978 June XNUMX in Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Turkey.
