The Islamic Centre for Development of Trade organizes a workshop entitled “Developing an Effective Marketing Strategy for Senegal as a Tourist Destination.”

Dakar (UNA) – The Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), in collaboration with the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and the Senegalese Tourism Promotion Agency (ATP), organized a two-day virtual workshop entitled “Developing an Effective Marketing Strategy for Senegal as a Tourist Destination.”

This workshop comes as part of the nomination of the Senegalese capital, Dakar, to be the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's tourism destination for 2025.

The workshop aimed to enable Senegalese stakeholders and institutions to develop their skills in tourism destination marketing and enhance Senegal's position on the regional and international tourism map. It saw broad participation from representatives of Senegal's tourism sector, the private sector, and international development and cooperation agencies, as well as experts from Uzbekistan, Turkey, Uganda, and Malaysia.

Participants emphasized the importance of providing further support in the areas of investment and training, with a focus on family tourism, culinary tourism, and ecotourism.
