Ramallah (UNA) – The year 2022 witnessed a significant increase in the pace of construction and expansion of Israeli settlements, and the occupation authorities approved about 83 colonial plans to build more than 22 colonial units throughout the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
The Central Bureau of Statistics stated in a press statement issued today, Wednesday, on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of Land Day, that the number of Israeli colonial sites and military bases reached 483 sites until the end of the year 2021 in the West Bank, distributed by 151 settlements, and 25 inhabited outposts that were considered as neighborhoods belonging to existing settlements. And 163 colonial outposts, and 144 other classified sites, including (industrial, tourist and service areas, and camps for the occupation army).
According to the statistics statement, the occupation authorities and settlers, under the protection of the occupation army, carried out 8,724 attacks against Palestinian citizens and their property during the year 2022, with 1,515 attacks on religious property and places, 362 attacks on lands and natural resources, and 6,847 attacks on individuals.
He pointed out that the occupation authorities carried out a total of 2022 demolitions during the year 378, affecting 953 facilities in the West Bank, including the city of Jerusalem, and most of them were concentrated in the Jerusalem governorate, with 118 demolitions, or 31%.
And the statistics showed that the number of Palestinian and Arab martyrs reached about one hundred thousand martyrs, since the Nakba in 1948 until today (inside and outside Palestine), while the number of martyrs from the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada until 31/12/2022 reached about 11,540 martyrs, and during the year 2022 the number of martyrs reached There are 231 martyrs in Palestine, 56 of whom are children and 17 are women.
