Tunis (INA) – The Tunisian Solidarity Festival, held at the Tunisian Cultural Center, announced the support of the Tunisian Quartet for national dialogue, for the nomination of the imprisoned Palestinian MP, Marwan Barghouti, for the Nobel Peace Prize, in loyalty and honor to the prisoners, and highlighting the issue of the prisoners as a cause of national liberation and a legitimate struggle against the occupation. And that a just and true peace will not be achieved without the release of the prisoners who sacrificed for the sake of freedom and peace. This came during a solidarity festival organized by the Palestinian Embassy in Tunisia, in cooperation with Tunisian associations and institutions, and in coordination with the Prisoners’ Authority and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club, on the occasion of Land Day and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day, with the participation of the Palestinian Ambassador to Tunisia, Hayel Al-Fahoum, the head of the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority, Issa Qaraqe’, and the head of the Prisoner’s Club. Qaddoura Fares, and Fadwa Al-Barghouti, the wife of the prisoner Marwan Al-Barghouti, with the participation of the Chairman of the Higher Arab Follow-up Committee in Palestine 1948, Muhammad Baraka, representatives and leaders of Tunisian political parties, leaders and activists of Tunisian civil society associations and institutions. During the festival, the head of the Tunisian Human Rights League, Abdel Sattar Ben Moussa, announced support for Barghouti's candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize, on behalf of the Tunisian Quartet for National Dialogue, which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015.
