Kuwait (UNA/KUNA) - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed today, Friday, the State of Kuwait's regret over the failure of the Security Council to adopt a resolution recommending the acceptance of the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations, which hinders international efforts to reach a solution to this crisis in the region and stop the ongoing attacks on the people. It is noteworthy that the Security Council failed yesterday, Thursday, to adopt an Algerian draft resolution recommending that the General Assembly accept the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations. 12 of the Council’s 15 members voted in favor of the resolution, the United States opposed it, and the United Kingdom and Switzerland abstained from voting.
