Iraqi Foreign Ministry: Palestine has a historical right to establish its state, and depriving it of this constitutes a violation

Baghdad (UNI/INA) - The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed today, Friday, that Palestine has a historical right to establish its own state, and depriving it of this constitutes a violation.

A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses deep regret over the failure of the Security Council to pass a draft resolution recommending granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations.”

The Ministry affirmed - according to the statement - that “Palestine has a historical right to establish its state, and depriving it of this right represents a violation of the rights of the Palestinian people, which exposes the region to the risk of permanent instability and portends devastating consequences, especially in light of the continuing war against Gaza and the failure of international efforts to end the crisis.” .
