Ramallah (UNA) - The official spokesman for the presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that the repeated Israeli threats to change the historical status quo in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by demanding that all prayers and biblical rituals be performed in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, determining a location for a synagogue inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and declaring the equal right of all religions in Al-Aqsa, in addition to the escalation of settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, along with the condemned daily killings, the latest of which was the martyrdom of two young men in the village of Kafr Dan, will have serious consequences for everyone. Abu Rudeineh added that all these complex issues are laying the foundations for a new, tense and turbulent phase, which will undoubtedly be a different historical phase. Therefore, the occupation must realize well that Jerusalem will always remain the key to security and peace, and it is the only historical condition for maintaining stability in this already volatile region. He continued that the real test for the US administration is its position on the policy and orientations of the current extremist Israeli government, and its position on implementing international legitimacy resolutions, most notably Resolution No. 2334, especially the statements of President Joe Biden and his Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, which say that the United States is committed to a solution. The two-state solution, and that it will maintain its commitment to promoting equal measures of freedom, justice, security and prosperity for Israelis and Palestinians alike, stressing that it is time to turn these words into reality on the ground before it is too late, warning that such dangerous policies, if not stopped by serious American pressure, will lead to the situation getting out of control.
