Jeddah (UNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) delegation, headed by Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with the UNHCR delegation headed by Ms. Kelly T. Clements, Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees, and Dr. Khaled Khalifa, Senior Advisor to the High Commissioner and Regional Representative of UNHCR.
The two delegations reviewed ways of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the situation of refugees globally, especially in the Islamic world.
They also discussed ways forward and agreed to implement several activities during this year, including renewing the OIC-UNHCR Joint Action Plan.
