Muscat (UNA) - The ninth cybersecurity exercise for Arab countries and member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off today in Muscat, under the slogan "Enhancing Cybersecurity Readiness". The exercise, hosted by the Sultanate for the fourth time in a row, targets national cybersecurity centers at the level of Arab countries and OIC member states, where virtual simulations of cyber attacks or information security incidents are conducted to measure cyber readiness and capabilities in responding to security incidents. The exercise also aims to enhance cyber readiness to deal with electronic incidents that various institutions are exposed to, by enhancing coordination and cooperation between national cybersecurity centers, to confront security incidents and methods of dealing with them, as well as raising awareness of the mechanisms and procedures followed to deal with various electronic risks and threats.
