Riyadh (UNA/SPA) – The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strongest condemnation of the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions by several drones coming from Iraq, which resulted in human casualties and some damage that is being addressed.
The ministry said in a statement: “The Kingdom clarifies that, based on the request of the Iraqi Prime Minister to give the Iraqi government the opportunity to take measures to prevent attacks launched from Iraqi territory towards the Kingdom and neighboring countries, the Kingdom has chosen not to respond at this stage, and to support the efforts of the Iraqi government.”
The ministry affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reserves its right to take all measures necessary to protect its sovereignty, security, facilities, citizens, and residents.
