Makkah Al-Mukarramah (UNA) – His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, inaugurated in Makkah Al-Mukarramah the League’s new digital platform, including the “Minhaj” application, in the presence of a number of Their Eminences, Excellencies and Highnesses from among the senior scholars of the Islamic world, representatives of Islamic bodies and organizations, in addition to a group of experts and those interested in Islamic affairs.
During the launch, the platform’s most prominent features were reviewed, highlighting the qualitative leap it represents in the League’s institutional communication system, as part of its ambitious strategic plans to enhance its communication with Muslim communities both within and outside the Islamic world.
The following participated in the grand celebration, with eloquent words: His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars, President of the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan, in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Fahd bin Saad Al-Majed, the Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque, Member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Advisor at the Royal Court, President of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, the President of the Supreme Islamic Council in the Republic of Algeria, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Mabrouk Ali Muhammad Zaid Al-Khair, and the President of the Indonesian Consultative Assembly, His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Mozani.
During the launch, Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa affirmed that this digital transformation represents a qualitative step within the League’s efforts to develop its technical tools, and contributes to enhancing effective communication with Islamic peoples, especially through accessible technical services that meet their needs. His Excellency indicated that the League is continuing to enhance its technical capabilities, keeping pace with the rapid development in modern technologies.
His Eminence added that the idea of implementing “Minhaj” received official approval from the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly in its Resolution No. (23) dated 13 Shawwal 1445 AH corresponding to 22 April 2024 AD, under the chairmanship and membership of Their Eminences, Excellencies, and Highnesses the Muftis and senior scholars of the Islamic world who are members of the Assembly.
His Excellency explained that this application is the first of its kind in terms of its broad legal umbrella, which includes the scholars of the Islamic nation who are members of the assemblies, bodies and councils affiliated with the Muslim World League, which gives it “high institutional credibility” that ends the state of “conflict and contradiction” in a number of religious programs in circulation, with “adding more important services”; thus forming an integrated technological shift with an unprecedented international legal umbrella of its kind and context.
It is worth mentioning that the “Minhaj” platform offers a wide range of interactive digital services in several international languages, filling a long-awaited gap, especially by correcting the conflict and contradiction in a number of existing applications, in addition to adding important and urgent services.
