Gaza (UNA/WAFA) – The Rafah land border crossing in the southern Gaza Strip was opened this morning, Thursday, in both directions, to allow the departure of patients and humanitarian cases and the return of those stranded to Gaza.
Red Crescent spokesman Raed Al-Nims told Wafa that the fourth batch of humanitarian cases, including patients, wounded and injured people, had been prepared and left towards the Rafah land border crossing to travel.
On Wednesday, the Israeli occupation authorities prevented patients and wounded people from traveling through the Rafah crossing, after the World Health Organization office was informed of the cancellation of the coordination for the departure of the third batch that was scheduled to leave to receive treatment.
Since its reopening last Monday, the Rafah crossing has seen only 50 patients and injured people leave, including their companions. On the first day, 7 patients left with their companions, and on the second day, 16 others left with their companions, despite the fact that about 18,500 patients and injured people need to receive treatment abroad.
