Copenhagen (UNA/WAFA) – The Danish pension fund Akademiker Pension said on Wednesday that it will exclude Israeli assets, including government-controlled companies, from its investment portfolio due to the war on the Gaza Strip and the expansion of settlements in the West Bank.
This is the latest decision by a European fund to reduce investments in Israel, following recent divestments by Norway's $2 trillion sovereign wealth fund.
The Danish Pension Fund, which is worth 157 billion Danish kroner ($24.77 billion) and manages the pensions of Danish teachers and university professors, stated that “the conflict is not in line with international humanitarian principles.”
