Beirut (INA) – The European Network for Palestinians of Syria condemned the systematic displacement of Palestinian refugees from their homes through starvation, siege and violent bombardment by the forces of the Assad regime and its security services. The network announced in a statement on Thursday (December 1, 2016) that it is following with great concern the systematic displacement process pursued by Assad's forces against the residents of the Palestinian camps, the latest of which was the displacement of the residents of Khan al-Sheikh camp in the western countryside of Damascus after more than 3 years of suffocating siege and continuous bombardment. The network expressed its great disapproval of the process of displacing civilians from Khan al-Sheikh camp, although it was devoid of any armed manifestations. The network expressed its astonishment at the suspicious silence of the United Nations and international institutions regarding the displacement of Palestinian refugees, despite the clear violation of international laws. It called on all international parties and human rights institutions to work hard to put an end to the displacement, siege and bombing of the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria. (End) GH / SPA
