
Makkah (UNA) - The Saudi Ministry of Interior held a press conference on Friday for the leaders of the Hajj Security Forces 1444 - 2023 at the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, which discussed the Ministry's security, traffic and organizational plans for the Hajj season 1444 AH, with the participation of the Director General of Public Security, Chairman of the Hajj Security Committee, Lieutenant General Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Bassami, Commander of the Special Emergency Forces at the Presidency of State Security, Major General Muhammad bin Maqbool Al-Omari, Acting Director General of Civil Defense, Major General Dr. Hamoud bin Suleiman Al-Faraj, and Commander of the Passport Forces for Hajj, Major General Dr. Saleh bin Saad Al-Murabba.
At the beginning of the conference, Lieutenant General Bassami said: “The general plan for the tasks and responsibilities of the Hajj security forces for this year, approved by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, worked to intensify the field security presence to ensure the speedy monitoring of types of cases.” And all security observations and a quick response with appropriate measures towards them, and taking preventive measures to prevent crime, combat pickpocketing, and any negative phenomena that affect the security and safety of pilgrims to the Sacred House of God.
He emphasized the implementation of the principle of prevention and safety for the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God through the consolation of pilgrims inside the Grand Mosque, the central area and the holy sites, the balance of traffic in the security control centers at the entrances to the holy city of Makkah, the holy sites and the roads leading to them, and the management and regulation of traffic in the central area, the holy sites and all roads and regions. He stressed the full readiness of the Ministry's security, traffic and organizational plans for the Hajj season 1444 AH to confront everything that affects the breach of security or order and to prevent all actions affecting the security and safety of the guests of Rahman.
For his part, Major General Al-Omari explained that the Special Emergency Forces are working to maintain security and order in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and the Holy Capital, and to ensure protection for the Kingdom’s guests, and to prevent violators of Hajj regulations from reaching the shrines, managing the movement of crowds, and organizing the stoning of the Jamarat according to security plans and crowd management in the southern square. for the Great Mosque of Mecca.
For his part, Major General Al-Faraj confirmed the preparations and readiness of the Civil Defense Forces for Hajj in the capital, the holy sites and Medina in terms of implementing and applying the preventive, educational and operational aspects, managing the situation through the Al-Mashaer Operations Center, activating the role of volunteers in the capital and the holy sites, the Haram Support Forces, and cooperation. With government agencies in dealing with emergencies according to the emergency general plan, and coordinating their efforts through the Hajj Emergency Operations Center.
In turn, Major General Al-Murabba announced the completion of the passport plan for the arrival stage to receive the guests of Rahman, with the arrival of (1,604,772) guests from outside the Kingdom to perform the Hajj, and the arrival of (238,708) beneficiaries of the Makkah Road initiative, stressing the provision of support and assistance to all parties participating in the Hajj season in the holy sites.
