
Tunis (UNA/KUNA) - Tunisia and Libya on Tuesday reiterated the importance of Arab solidarity to support the Palestinian people in establishing their independent state and rejecting any attempts at forced displacement.
The Libyan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that this came during a meeting between the person in charge of running the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Libyan Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, and the Tunisian Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ali Al-Nafzi, during the preparatory ministerial meetings for the emergency Arab summit scheduled for today in Cairo.
She added that the meeting discussed prospects for strengthening fraternal relations and ways to develop bilateral cooperation in various fields to achieve common interests.
The two ministers also reviewed the latest regional and international developments, most notably the developments of the Palestinian issue and the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The (Extraordinary Arab Summit on Palestine) will be launched in Cairo today, where Arab leaders will meet to affirm a comprehensive Arab position rejecting the proposals to displace the Palestinians and liquidate the Palestinian cause.
