The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) operates within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and serves as an umbrella for news agencies and a training center, invoking the objectives and principles of the Organization’s Charter. The Union has a legal personality and an independent budget (a specialized international body), and its headquarters is in the city of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

(Objectives):
The union works to achieve the following goals:
- Enhancing professional and training relations and links, developing cooperation, enhancing fraternity and solidarity bonds, and exerting efforts to achieve the highest levels of cooperation among member agencies.
- Promoting and facilitating the exchange of experiences, reports, information, and audio-visual content among member agencies.
- Producing reports and audio-visual contents and distributing them to member agencies, and encouraging the issuance of research and media studies.
- Ensuring the active participation of member agencies at the global level, and promoting a unified media position on issues of common interest and defending them in international forums.
- Coordinate with member agencies, regional federations, OIC organs and international training centers to implement training programs for media professionals, and prepare training programs and activities to develop their capabilities.
- Introducing and defending the issues of the Islamic world, foremost of which is the issue of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
- Combating racism, hate speech, extremism, racial discrimination and Islamophobia in all its forms.
- Spreading, promoting and preserving Islamic teachings and values based on moderation and tolerance, promoting Islamic culture, preserving Islamic heritage, protecting and defending the true image of Islam, and confronting distortion of the image of Islam.
- Introducing the peoples of the OIC countries to each other and deepening the spirit of brotherhood among them.
- Introducing the religious, political, social, economic, educational, scientific, cultural and heritage foundations on which the call for Islamic solidarity is based.
- Introducing the activities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its affiliated organs and organizations.
