Xinhua News Agency is the official news agency of the People's Republic of China and the primary propaganda arm of the Communist Party of China. Founded in 1931, it is one of the largest international news agencies, with a network of correspondents in more than 170 countries. It publishes its content in eight languages, including Arabic, and covers political, economic, and cultural news. Headquartered in Beijing, Fu Hua is currently the president of Xinhua. Xinhua plays a pivotal role in conveying the Chinese narrative to the world and promoting media diplomacy.

Fu Hua
Fu Hua (傅华), born in August 1964 in Rudong County, Jiangsu, China
He holds a BA in Chinese Language and Literature from Yangzhou Teachers College (1985), and holds a Doctor of Laws degree. He is described as “in service” to Party studies at Renmin People's University.
He began his career in journalism and media within government institutions, such as the Department of Commerce and State Reform, and then held roles in the propaganda committees of municipal and provincial governments, most notably Beijing (2010–2014) and Guangdong (2018–2020).
He later served in media leadership roles: Secretary and President of the Beijing Newspaper, Managing Editor of the Economic Daily, and then in the Central Propaganda Bureau.
In June 2021, he was appointed editor-in-chief of Xinhua, and assumed the position of Xinhua chief/Party Secretary in June 2022, succeeding Peng.
