It aims to promote cooperation among Member States in the fields of education, science and culture, with emphasis on the protection of cultural heritage and the development of innovation. Its headquarters are located in Rabat, Morocco.

Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al Malik
Dr. Salim M. AlMalik has been the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) since 2018. He has extensive experience in the fields of education and science, and works to enhance cooperation among the Organization’s Member States. Under his leadership, ISESCO seeks to improve education, promote culture and science, and support peace and coexistence in the Islamic world. Dr. AlMalik also works to develop projects that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the fields of education and technology.
