"Oman News Agency, the official source of news in the Sultanate, was established by Royal Decree No. (39/86) on May 29, 1986. It became a unit of the Oman Press and News Foundation under Decree (43/97), then was transferred to the Ministry of Information in 2006 under Decree (75/2006). The agency plays a vital role in implementing Oman’s media policies based on the vision of His Majesty the Sultan, and contributes to raising awareness among citizens about local and international events through its advanced news network."
