Qatar News Agency (QNA) was established on May 25, 1975 by virtue of Amiri Decree No. 94 of 1975, to be the second Gulf news agency specializing in Gulf region news and to become one of the achievements of the Qatari journey in the media field.

Ahmed Saeed Jaber Al-Rumaihi has been the Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) since 2021. Previously, he served as Director of the Media Office at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was responsible for media coordination. Known for his articles on political and cultural affairs, he seeks to strengthen the agency’s role as a reliable source of news.
