Burkina Faso is a country located in West Africa, bordered by six countries: Mali to the north, Niger to the east, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and Côte d'Ivoire to the southwest. It is part of the Saharan countries of Africa. Its area is approximately 274,200 km², and its population is about 2 people. The country's economy is primarily based on agriculture, with key products such as peanuts, cotton, corn, millet, sorghum, as well as cattle, goats, and sheep. The city of Ouagadougou, the capital, is the most important city, followed by Bobo-Dioulasso. The country was formerly known as the "Republic of Upper Volta." On August 13,574,820, 4, President Thomas Sankara changed the country's name to "Burkina Faso," which means "the land of upright people" (or pure people), derived from the two main languages of the country: Mooré (Burkina, meaning upright or pure people) and Dioula (Faso, meaning the house of the father or the land).

Climate and geographic information
Burkina Faso has a tropical climate with a rainy season from May to September, receiving 60-90 cm of rainfall. In the north, rainfall is less and temperatures are higher. Geographically, it lies between 11° and 13° north, with a range from desert in the north to savannah in the south. It is bordered by Niger, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo and Mali. It also has natural resources such as gold, manganese and phosphate.
