Director General of UNA: The ties between Russia and the Islamic world transcend political and economic interests.

Kazan (UNA) – The Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), Professor Mohammed bin Abdulrab Al-Yami, affirmed that what unites Russia, with its ancient cultural and religious components, with the Islamic world transcends political and economic interests, forming a system of shared human values ​​based on justice, mercy, tolerance, and respect for humanity.

This came during a speech delivered by Al-Yami at the Strategic Vision Meeting “Russia – Islamic World” 2026, held in Kazan, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World” Rustam Minnikhanov, and a number of officials, media figures and intellectuals.

Al-Yami expressed the pride of the UNA Union in its continued cooperation with the Strategic Vision Group, noting that this cooperation reflects the shared commitment to promoting dialogue and understanding between peoples and cultures.

He explained that the shared values ​​between Russia and the Islamic world represent a solid foundation for cooperation and sustainable partnership, stressing that these values ​​are not exclusive to any one religion or nation, but rather represent a shared human heritage.

He pointed out that the Republic of Tatarstan offers a unique model of coexistence and harmony, where Islamic civilization meets Russian identity within a framework of openness, understanding and cultural diversity, making this experience a positive message for multicultural and multi-religious societies.

Al-Yami reiterated his thanks to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan for adopting the “Kazan City of Media 2027” program, as part of a joint program with the UNA Union, with the aim of creating a leading Russian Islamic platform concerned with developing media work, promoting intercultural dialogue, and spreading the values ​​of peace and understanding.

He stressed that the prospects for cooperation between the two sides could contribute to enhancing the exchange of experiences in the fields of education and culture, supporting joint initiatives to confront extremism and terrorism and spread the values ​​of moderation and tolerance, in addition to developing economic projects, especially in the fields of infrastructure and renewable energy, as well as scientific and technological cooperation and the exchange of research and innovation experiences.

In closing, the Director General of UNA expressed his hope for a brighter future of partnership, coordination, and joint action, serving the peoples of both sides and strengthening the historical relations between Russia and the Islamic world.
