Jeddah (UNA) – The Director General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA), Mr. Mohammed bin Abdulrab Al-Yami, received today at the Union’s headquarters in Jeddah, the Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen.
During the meeting, the Director General reviewed the Union’s most prominent programs and initiatives aimed at developing media work in member states and enhancing coordination and integration among news agencies in the Islamic world.
His Excellency the Ambassador was also briefed on the efforts made by the Union as a major media platform for member states in supporting their media presence, as well as its role in advancing the media industry, based on Islamic values that urge transparency, credibility and tolerance.
The meeting also included a discussion of the two sides’ aspirations to enhance cooperation and joint coordination, and media consultation on a number of issues.
