The Union of OIC News Agencies holds a coordination meeting to discuss the media's responsibility in times of crisis.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) will hold a virtual coordination meeting on April 26, 2026, entitled “The Responsibility of Media and Society in Times of Crisis.”

The meeting will discuss the responsibility of the media in light of the attacks to which a number of member states in the Middle East region are subjected, and its role in promoting social cohesion and supporting governmental efforts aimed at preserving lives and protecting the assets and facilities of countries.

The meeting also aims to coordinate joint media action between the news agencies of member states, discuss ways to address and combat rumors in the media and society, and emphasize the importance of adhering to information issued by official bodies, in addition to enhancing news exchange between member states on issues related to this crisis, in order to contribute to unifying the media discourse and reducing the spread of false and misleading news.
