Jeddah (UNA) – The Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), Mr. Mohammed bin Abdulrab Al-Yami, met today, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Union’s headquarters in Jeddah, with the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Hadi Shibli.
The meeting addressed the aspirations of both parties to enhance cooperation and joint coordination, and to consult on media matters related to a number of issues. It also touched upon ways to bolster the ongoing efforts to develop Islamic media work and support the role of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) in serving its member states, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause.
For his part, Ambassador Shibli appreciated what the Union provides in support of Arab and Islamic issues in the media in general, and its increased interest in the Palestinian issue in particular.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, First Counselor Nassim Al-Za’anin, and Second Secretary Athar Al-Omari from the Permanent Mission.
