The Chinese ambassador to Saudi Arabia visits UNA and stresses the importance of strengthening media cooperation with Islamic countries.

Jeddah (UNA) – His Excellency Mr. Qiang Hua, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), visited the headquarters of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) in Jeddah on Monday, as part of strengthening media relations between China and Islamic countries and expanding the horizons of partnership and joint cooperation in the media and cultural fields.

The Chinese ambassador was received by the union's director-general, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbuh Al-Yami, who welcomed the guest and praised the importance of this visit in strengthening communication between Chinese media institutions and their counterparts in the organization's member states.
During the meeting, Al-Yami emphasized UNA's commitment to strengthening media relations with China and expanding cooperation with Chinese institutions, as part of the union's professional and media mission to support cultural dialogue and enhance mutual understanding.

The Director General of the Union presented the Chinese Ambassador with a brief overview of UNA's most prominent activities, programs, and future plans, highlighting the Union's pivotal role as a media platform serving member states and promoting joint Islamic media work at the regional and international levels.
Al-Yami also stressed the importance of developing international partnerships to help convey a true image of the Islamic world and support the issues of dialogue and coexistence.

For his part, Ambassador Qiang Hua stressed that media cooperation between China and Islamic countries represents a fundamental pillar for supporting civilizational dialogue and deepening mutual understanding among different peoples and cultures. He commended the efforts of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) and its effective role as a bridge for cultural and media communication, affirming his country's readiness to strengthen partnerships and develop qualitative cooperation programs that serve the common interests of both parties.

In a related context, the Chinese ambassador delivered an official invitation to the Union's Director-General to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's Media and Research Centers Summit, scheduled to be held next month in the People's Republic of China. He highlighted the importance of UNA's participation in this international event to enhance communication with global research and media institutions and explore opportunities for exchanging expertise and best practices.

The meeting witnessed the exchange of commemorative gifts between the two sides, symbolically affirming the depth of cultural and media relations between the Union and the People's Republic of China. This was achieved amid a positive atmosphere reflecting a shared desire for greater openness and professional integration to serve the aspirations of the peoples and member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and China.
