The Kazan Forum awards the UNA Media Award for Best Media Coverage.

Kazan (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) (UNA) won the Media Award at the Kazan 2025 Forum, hosted by the Russian city of Kazan.

The award, the first of its kind in Russia and the Islamic world, was received by the Union's Director General, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdrabuh Al-Yami, during his participation in the International Conference of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia - Islamic World," held today, Thursday, May 15, 2025, and during his participation in the session "Media of the Future in the Present: Content and Technologies."

UNA's recognition of this award comes in recognition of the Union's active role in covering the Kazan Forum, through the direct presence and continuous participation of the Director General, and the harnessing of all resources to convey a comprehensive picture of the Forum's proceedings in several languages ​​and disseminating it to various member states.

In this context, the Director General of the Union emphasized that this award is not only a tribute to the Union as a media institution, but also to all OIC member states, especially the official news agencies, which have provided continuous and unlimited support to the Union's efforts and contributed, through their ongoing cooperation, to these achievements.

Al-Yami also expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the host country, for its support and patronage of the Union, and for its ongoing efforts to enable joint Islamic media work and promote its civilized message in various international forums.

He considered this honor an incentive to continue joint work and enhance media cooperation among the OIC member states, serving common causes and strengthening the presence of the moderate Islamic voice in the global media landscape.
